For Irene and Federico’s engagement shoot, we chose a setting completely different from a traditional couple session: Gardaland. Instead of looking for quiet landscapes or formal compositions, I followed them through the park, letting its colours, attractions and playful atmosphere become part of their story.
A pre-wedding shoot is a chance to become familiar with the wedding photographer and the camera before the wedding day, but it should also reflect the personality of the couple. Between walks, games and cotton candy, Irene and Federico quickly forgot about the lens, giving me the spontaneous expressions and laughter I always look for.
Gardaland is located in Castelnuovo del Garda, in the Verona area, with Lake Garda as its backdrop. Opened in 1975, it has grown into one of Italy’s best-known amusement parks, with themed environments designed around adventure and fantasy.
I approached the session with the same reportage style I use at weddings, observing rather than constantly directing. The result is an engagement story that feels lively and personal: photographs of Irene and Federico enjoying themselves together, with Gardaland providing an unusual and unmistakable setting.
