The location of Villa Bongiovanni is one of the structures I have most enjoyed during my experience as a wedding photographer in Verona. I have gathered all the most important information so you can learn more about the history, the structure and answer the most frequently asked questions about the villa. Enjoy your reading!

Villa Bongiovanni: the history

The lovely Villa Bongiovanni is located in Locara, in the picturesque hinterland of Verona. It is an elegant building built in the 18th century by the Bongiovanni family of the same name, wealthy landowners. According to the period's fashion, in fact, they decided to show off their social prestige by building a luxurious residence. Therefore, Villa Bongiovanni is part of the rich local heritage of historic Venetian villas.

Building work continued until the 19th century, constructing a splendid neoclassical palace. The Villa remained in the hands of the Bongiovanni family for over a century. It was in fact handed down from generation to generation until the outbreak of the Second World War.

In the early 1940s, the house was bought by a wealthy Locarno family. In the post-war period, they began an initial restoration of the structure, which in the meantime had lost its ancient splendour. Some substantial changes were also made to the facade of Villa Bongiovanni, which was reinterpreted according to the taste of the period.

Despite this, the house was again abandoned over the following decades. In a short time, a period of profound decay and neglect began, so much so that the structure was even in danger of collapse.

Fortunately, in 1996, Villa Bongiovanni was bought by Fernando Tadiello, a local entrepreneur. Moved by his love of art, Tadiello decided to finance a second complete restoration of the complex, which was completed in 2006. Villa Bongiovanni returned to its original splendour and was opened for private events and celebrations thanks to his efforts.

Villa Bongiovanni: the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding

As we have seen, Villa Bongiovanni has experienced periods of great splendour and moments of decadence. Fortunately, the structure's spaces have now returned to their original beauty and host prestigious events. The Villa is open for business meetings and, above all, fairytale weddings

The building is surrounded by a romantic private park, under whose secular foliage you can organise your celebrations. There are in fact two large spaces surrounded by greenery, where you can also celebrate your official civil ceremony. During the hot summer days, it will be the perfect location for bucolic and sophisticated weddings.

If you prefer a more modern reception, Villa Bongiovanni also has a beautiful swimming pool at your disposal. This is a well-kept space from which to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Veronese countryside. This space will be perfect for cutting the cake under the starry sky or for the wildest deejay sets!

If you prefer to celebrate your wedding indoors, several options are available. You can choose between the rustic spaces offered by the Barchessa and the Porticato or the more classic indoor rooms. The former are characterised by wooden ceilings and brick walls, typical of ancient Venetian villas. Here, you can celebrate more relaxed and youthful receptions, but not less elegant.

If you are looking for a more intimate and traditional setting, then the ancient Salons of the mansion are the best choice. Although smaller, they will be perfect for private and exclusive weddings. It doesn't matter what your style, age or number of guests: Villa Bongiovanni will always be able to give you unforgettable moments.

Villa Bongiovanni: the structure of the location

The historic Villa Bongiovanni stands among the verdant fields of the gentle Venetian countryside. It is an elegant structure in perfect neoclassical style, typical of the eighteenth-century period.

The Villa is surrounded by a charming little park, in which two distinct gardens can be identified. The first, at the front, is the Giardino della Barchessa, richly embellished with hedges and statues. The second, at the side, is the Giardino della Fontana, through which one reaches the back of the palace.

Once past the two gardens, it is possible to admire the structure's large swimming pool, next to which is the portico. The latter is built in the same style as the neighbouring Barchessa. It has the typical lines of the old Venetian villas, with a larch ceiling and beautiful old brick walls.

Moving inside the refined main building, we reach the elegant Saloni of Villa Bongiovanni. There are many spaces available for events and weddings. The two main ones are the small Sala Caminetto and the spacious Sala Tinello. Both rooms are carefully decorated and feature historic grit and parquet floors.

Villa Bongiovanni is also a renowned bed and breakfast where you can stay with your loved ones. The renovation of the main building has resulted in five rooms and a Double Superior Room. Once again, these are elegant and well-kept spaces where you can spend moments of true relaxation. If you are looking for a place where you can celebrate your wedding while enjoying a beautiful holiday, the Villa will not disappoint your expectations.

In addition to being a wedding photographer, I am a husband (lucky!) and a dad (super lucky!).

I love happy tail wags and purring in the evening twilight, which is why we also have two beautiful furries in our family, Octavia and Nova.
I love the smell of the woods where everything is so wild, where you can reconnect deeply with nature. In the same way, I love the only means that allows you to stay firmly connected to the world around you, the motorbike.

My wife Giulia and I travelled across Europe to the North Cape, where we left a piece of our hearts.
