Benedetta and Dario’s wedding began with a religious ceremony in Padua before the celebrations continued at Ca’ Marcello. I followed the day with a reportage approach, paying attention to the transitions between ceremony, reception and the quieter moments the couple could finally enjoy together.
Ca’ Marcello is a sixteenth-century Venetian villa that is still inhabited by the Marcello family. One of its most distinctive features is the historic park surrounding the residence: around 90,000 square metres divided between a formal Italian garden and a more natural English-style park, both preserving their eighteenth-century layout.
Benedetta wore a clean, elegant gown with a softly structured bodice, wide shoulder straps and a flowing skirt that extended into a long train. A bow at the back defined the waist, while the simplicity of the fabric allowed the silhouette and movement of the dress to remain the strongest elements. Her pastel bouquet added a delicate contrast of blue, blush and cream tones.
For their couple portraits, I used the softer areas of the park and the warm light filtering through the trees. Rather than directing Benedetta and Dario into formal poses, I let them walk, look at each other and enjoy a few minutes away from the reception, creating photographs centred on their connection while the historic garden quietly framed the scene.
