Villa Elodia: the history
Villa Elodia is a refined residence built in the 17th century. It stands in Trivignano Udinese, in the gentle Friulian countryside. Probably constructed on a 16th-century building, the residence was built in the typical style of Venetian villas. According to records in the land register of the Napoleonic era, Villa Elodia belonged to the noble Redolfi family.
In 1821, Francesco Redolfi sold the property to Count Domenico Rubini, an important supplier of textiles to the Imperial House of Habsburg. The latter commissioned the extension of Villa Elodia, turning it into an elegant Palladian mansion. The structure was thus embellished with neoclassical elements, which also affected the adjacent barchesse.
Upon the count's death, ownership of the villa passed to his son Carlo, who settled there with his wife and daughters. Work continued on the extension of the complex, which was mainly concentrated on the park. This was redesigned by the famous architect Andrea Scala in the English Romantic style.
Villa Elodia later passed to Charles' eldest daughter, Marion. However, with the outbreak of the First World War, the property was requisitioned and used as a military hospital. In 1954, Elodia Orgnani Martina finally purchased the property and began its restoration. Within a few years, Villa Elodia returned to its former glory, opening its doors to events and celebrations.
Villa Elodia: the perfect setting for a refined wedding
As we have mentioned, Villa Elodia is a place where art and nature combine to perfection. Between statues by Canova and bucolic corners, it is the ideal location to organise refined and elegant weddings. Stepping through the noble walls, it is indeed impossible not to be deeply impressed by the beauty of this mansion.
Villa Elodia is surrounded by a beautiful centuries-old park, characterised by romantic-style elements. With its artificial pond, it is the ideal location for a princely and enchanting photo shoot. Under the verdant foliage, it is then possible to celebrate the sweetest of rites, celebrating every stage of the wedding on site. You can then reach the well-kept garden nearby to arrange a cool aperitif or, why not, your banquet. It will be the perfect setting for impeccable, shabby chic celebrations on hot summer days.
If you prefer to organise an event in the winter, Villa Elodia is ready to welcome you within its walls. Here, too, the spaces are countless and versatile. You can choose between the noble halls of the structure and the more rustic Barchessa. In the first case, you will find the perfect setting to organise a luxurious and traditional wedding, suitable for high-impact dinners. In the latter, on the other hand, you can take advantage of a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere for a convivial wedding.
Looking for a smaller, more romantic space? Again, Villa Elodia will not disappoint your expectations. There are indeed more romantic and intimate rooms and lounges, as well as a beautiful terrace overlooking the park. Whatever your requirements, the venue will always be able to find the solution that best suits your style. From the most elegant weddings to the freshest and most youthful, we are sure Villa Elodia will not disappoint.
Villa Elodia: the structure of the location
Villa Elodia is one of the most successful examples of the beautiful Venetian villas in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The spacious structure, immersed in the greenery of the surrounding fields, has all the typical elements of 18th century neoclassical residences.
Upon reaching the building, it is impossible not to be enraptured as you stroll through the large park. Rich in centuries-old trees, it still presents its English romantic style layout, characterised by paths and flowerbeds. Under the foliage of the poplars there is also a charming artificial lake, an ideal location for bucolic shots.
Approaching the Villa, visitors then reach the structure's delicate Italian-style garden, overlooked by a splendid barchessa. This old farmhouse has now been completely renovated. Inside you will find rooms with a rustic flavour, characterised by a splendid wooden ceiling and stone walls.
Two imposing stone and iron staircases lead up to the main floor of Villa Elodia. Here you can admire the stunning Salone delle feste, a space that can seat up to 100 people. Inside there is even a statue by Canova, as well as paintings and stuccoes from the 18th century. It is a refined and sophisticated ambience with period furnishings and a splendid view of the park.
There are also smaller, more intimate rooms decorated with the same expertise. Going upstairs, one finally reaches the romantic terrace and five luxurious suites in which one can stay overnight. Villa Elodia is a truly unique location where you can experience your most beautiful day in style in refined surroundings of great historical importance.
