Villa Trovatore Rossato: the history

The lovely Villa Trovatore Rossato is located in Cervignano del Friuli, in the province of Udine. It is a complex built in the 17th century in the typical style of Venetian villas and is situated among cultivated fields and rich vineyards, and is home to an important farm.

Over the course of these 400 years, Villa Trovato Rossato has experienced moments of great wealth and periods of decline. It was purchased in the 1970s by Livio and Francesco Verzegnassi and it was even converted into a discotheque. The club soon became very popular, becoming a destination for young people in northern Italy. However, like many other discotheques of the time, Villa Trovatore Rossato began to see fewer admissions in the 1990s. In less than 10 years "Il Trovatore" closed its doors for good, ending its activity in 2001.

For some years the Villa remained empty, falling into a state of neglect. It was only in 2008 with the purchase by the Rossano family that it opened its doors again. Thanks to an accurate restoration, the structure has become a splendid Bed & Breakfast. Opened in 2012, it is now one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Friuli as well as a location for weddings and events.

Villa Trovatore Rossato: the structure of the location

The historic Villa Trovatore Rossato stands amidst the rich vineyards of Friuli Venezia Giulia. In fact, it is also famous for its extraordinary wine production and food and wine tours. Dating back to the seventeenth century, the Villa has the typical structure of ancient Venetian residences.

You enter a romantic park through the high gates and walls. This is a green area of over 20,000 square metres, with centuries-old trees and a bucolic lake. Traversed by numerous avenues, the park has flowerbeds and spaces now occupied by elegant tensile structures. There is also a magnificent central fountain, located in the green garden of the complex.

When you reach the elegant main building, you cannot fail to be enchanted by its façade. The façade has typical neoclassical lines and is embellished with a monumental decorated tympanum. Inside, there are several rooms on two floors. The rooms are elegant and tastefully decorated, with beautiful chandeliers and paintings.

Finally, Villa Trovatore Rossato is a renowned bed and breakfast, where you can stay with your loved ones. The renovation of a side wing has resulted in several modern-style rooms. These are elegant and well-kept spaces where you can spend moments of pure relaxation.
