Simona’s preparation already held the lightness that would accompany the entire day. She wore a refined wedding dress with a floral lace bodice, three-quarter sleeves and a clean, flowing skirt. The contrast between the richly detailed top and the essential silhouette gave the gown a modern elegance, perfectly suited to an intimate winter wedding.
During Simona and Mattia’s religious ceremony, I followed the emotions without interrupting them: the anticipation before the entrance, the smiles exchanged at the altar and the gestures shared with their families. The reception took place at Che C'è C'è, located on Lungolago dell’Arlecchino beside the water. This setting creates a direct connection with one of Mantua’s most recognisable landscapes: the city is surrounded by three lakes, while its Renaissance heritage forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage property shared with Sabbioneta.
For the couple portraits, the December mist softened the skyline and reflected the city across the still water. I let Simona and Mattia remain close, without imposing rigid poses. Their kiss on the pier became a quiet image of the day, preserving both the winter landscape of Mantua and the emotions held within it.
